So you don’t think you need the iPad?
The iPad hasn’t quite hit our shores yet but clickDM has already worked out how our clients could benefit from Apple’s latest revolutionary product.
In fact, Head of Digital, Ian Ross and Web Designer, Jesse Steinfort spent some time today at the Adobe CS5 Roadshow. And came back brimming with geeky enthusiasm over InDesign’s ability to publish straight to mobile devices like the iPad and Kindle.
No we don’t know what that means either. But we do know that they’re now armed with trial versions of the new software and are hard at work building iPad apps. So when the iPad does arrive in Australia, they’ll be ready for it.
If you’d like to know how our iPad apps can help your business, give Ian a call.

Fire up!
When was the last time you felt so strongly about one of your ideas you threatened to jump out of an office window if people in your meeting didn’t listen to it?
‘We should be in charge!’
On Monday night we saw people like George Lois, Mary Wells, Hal Riney and Lee Clow in Art & Copy.
‘That’s advertising, baby!’
They didn’t worry about awards, or being the coolest kids at ad school. They just came up with some of the most disruptive and successful ad ideas ever.
‘Creativity can sell anything!’
Like Apple’s ‘1984’, firing the first shot in the PC vs Mac wars. Or Nike’s ‘Just do it’ attitude. Or the ‘Morning in America’ TV ads that helped Ronald Reagan win a second term in 1984. Uhh, thanks for that one.
But proper thanks to Junior for organising the Melbourne screening.
Now, in the words of George Lois, ‘Let’s sell that mutha—!’

A hatrick for Casey
Yesterday Casey Stoner won his third successive MotoGP at Philip Island.
We celebrated not only because he did Australia proud. But because he did our client Swann Insurance proud too.
Swann has been Casey’s only personal Australian sponsor since 2004.
It’s all part of their commitment to being a leading advocate for motorcycle safety. In fact, Swann appointed Casey their Motorcycle Safety Ambassador in 2007, so he can help them unveil the Motorcycle of the Future – a motorcycle that’s been designed and engineered to reduce the likelihood of accidents.
If you ask us, anything that keeps riders safer is worth celebrating.

‘Feliz aniversário, John!’
We have a birthday tradition at THE DM GROUP.
We buy the lucky person a cake of their choice then sit them down to endure a cringingly bad recital of Happy Birthday.
We love it. They don’t.
Which makes the whole affair all the more enjoyable.
Unfortunately, today’s birthday boy – our managing director – couldn’t make it because he’s in Portugal.
So…feliz aniversáriopara você, John Kilgour!

Y so early…?
We love the Y.
It’s an iconic brand with a rich heritage and incredible values.
We’re embracing those qualities right now as we develop YMCA Victoria’s annual health and wellness centre member acquisition campaign for a second year.
But there’s more to the Y than gyms.
This morning we attended a fundraising breakfast at Melbourne’s Federation Square for The Bridge Project.
Its goal is to help rebuild young lives by creating employment partnerships between businesses and young offenders.
The event featured well-known speakers including Collingwood Football Club coach and The Bridge Project Patron, Mick Malthouse and World Vision CEO, Tim Costello.
Better still, it was attended by over 500 people.
Like the two early birds above – trademarkDM head of client service, Brandon Clark and our lovely YMCA client, Fiona Steer.
