Born to shop

According to the organisers of the ‘Til You Drop exhibition at the State Library, “Shopping today is so much more than a simple exchange of cash for goods. More often than not, it is an all-encompassing sensory experience that seduces us to spend.”
Senior Account Manager Kylie and Account Manager Kristin, our most experienced shoppers, were sent to investigate.
They sat in on a discussion that looked at the different ways in which retailers are changing the way we shop.
One company taking on the challenge is Melbourne-based skin care company Aesop. Creative director Dennis Paphitis described the task of creating a complete consumer experience, from the choice of floor finishes and store temperature through to product packaging and customer service.
Kylie and Kristin left feeling inspired to explore more ways to appeal to consumers – which naturally will require some hands-on experience over the weekend at a thorough sample of shopping spots. Lucky they’re dedicated.
