A pregnant pause…

Tonight, trademarkDM’s very pregnant Justine Grahame has finally been dragged kicking and screaming from THE DM GROUP.
She will be sorely missed.
For now.
We and our clients can only hope it’s but a pause in the career of this passionate account service professional.

A pitch of a different sort

You might think Bernbach and Ogilvy are advertising icons but, as anyone who works in the industry knows, here’s a real one.
The foosball table.
A central social point at many agencies, our official ITFS table arrived this week.
Within days it has increased the blood pressures of our more competitive colleagues. While for others it’s providing a relaxing distraction from the stresses of daily deadlines.
Regardless of which team you fall into however, it does provide a solid adrenaline boost for tackling the next pressing job.
So if you ever hear us kicking goals, you’ll know we’re doing it for THE DM GROUP.
And our valued clients.

There goes the neighborhood
Don’t be fooled by the picture of our neighborhood above.
For those who know Melbourne, you’d also know THE DM GROUP is located in a, errr, colourful part of town.
Unkind souls call it the Bronx.
Those more generous in spirit – real estate agents, surprisingly – have started naming it the New York End.
It’s a reference to the recent development in our CBD domain. And recognition that it really is the polar opposite of the more famous Paris End of town.
But if today’s news in The Age is correct that’s all about to change.
Two of the town’s top restaurants are considering moving in, quite literally taking our gastronomic choices to new heights.
Meanwhile, we’ll get ready to farewell the old neighborhood.
And the strippers…
And the druggies…
And the drunks…

The hardest brief of the year
Christmas not only means a bunch of bounty and booze, it means the most difficult brief of the year is upon us.
THE ANNUAL AGENCY CHRISTMAS CARD BRIEF.
Easy, we hear you say?
Well imagine the burden of expectation on an advertising agency –
a pithy ‘Merry Christams and Happy New Year’ just won’t cut it.
Which is why every year we make it an open brief, so we get
THE DM GROUP’s wisest men and women working on it.
Like trademarkDM account executive Kristin Tomuschat.
Harking from Germany, she’s the closest thing we’ve got to the North Pole. And she happens to be in account service too.
So she’s the natural choice for delivering our hardest brief which,
as you can see above, she did with über enthusiasm and theatre.
The rest is now up to Santa’s little helpers…

We don’t expect to win but…
Yesterday we watched Melbourne Storm, well, storm home with the title of 2009 NRL champions.
It’s the fourth consecutive year the Storm has reached the final and the second time they’ve converted their efforts into the NRL trophey.
You might have seen our latest HOSTPLUS television commercial.
It marks the third consecutive year our client – and Storm sponsor – has won both SuperRatings’ and Money‘s best super fund awards.
And it celebrates an attitude both HOSTPLUS and the Storm share.
They don’t expect to win.
But they do.
