332 black balloons popped

Lizzie is proud of her two chocolate frogs

Last month, our corporate social responsibility team launched a month-long campaign to cut our energy consumption by 10%.

Today, we’re proud to report that we’ve reached our target – and exceeded it – with a 30% reduction in the number of black balloons we produce.

Not only do we get to feel good about doing our bit for the planet, our green efforts have been rewarded with a bonus treat.

Two chocolate frogs, instead of one.

A hatrick for Casey

Yesterday Casey Stoner won his third successive MotoGP at Philip Island.

We celebrated not only because he did Australia proud. But because he did our client Swann Insurance proud too.

Swann has been Casey’s only personal Australian sponsor since 2004.

It’s all part of their commitment to being a leading advocate for motorcycle safety. In fact, Swann appointed Casey their Motorcycle Safety Ambassador in 2007, so he can help them unveil the Motorcycle of the Future – a motorcycle that’s been designed and engineered to reduce the likelihood of accidents.

If you ask us, anything that keeps riders safer is worth celebrating.

The young upstart still has much to learn

Ultimate arm wrestling: DM vs Digital

It’s a common misconception that digital communication channels are more environmentally friendly than print channels.

But as trademarkDM’s print production manager David Findlay and clickDM’s web designer Jesse Steinfort demonstrate, print wins hands down in the green stakes.

Printing an A4, full-colour, 100-page annual report produces 80 grams of greenhouse gas. While manufacturing a CD or DVD, without any content, produces 300 grams of greenhouse gas.

That’s because the printing industry has reduced its environmental impact by 97% in the last 10 years through innovative new technology and processes.

So maybe it’s time we all took a leaf out of the printing industry’s book.

Pockers turns 30

Emily's eye catching cake

Today trademarkDM account director, Emily Pockley, decided to celebrate her thirtieth birthday with a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake that looked like it might poke her eye out if she got too close.

Good thing THE DM GROUP doesn’t bother with candles.

Just our best (or worst) rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ this year and we were ready to murder that cake before it got us.

hello
